Opportunities to work at Ancestree Herbals
Every season, we seek 1-3 motivated and committed WWOOFers/volunteers who want to gain practical experience on a medicinal herb farm. Our volunteers learn what it takes to produce a diversity of herbs, working with a labor-intensive hands-on approach. Volunteers will work seeding, transplanting, weeding, harvesting, wild crafting, cleaning, drying, and packing herbs for shipment. In addition to this, our volunteers will have the opportunity to help grow a lot of food for their own subsistence.
We follow the WWOOFing guidelines as a host farm. In exchange for 6 hours of volunteer work a day, 5.5 days a week, we provide access to medicinal herbs that aren't sold, an abundance of food from the garden, modest accommodation and some basic food staples. In addition you will gain the experience of a successful small scale organic farm, as well as living in the beautiful Methow Valley and able to enjoy the amazing recreation of this area. Applicants will need to have their own car. The season is from the beginning of May until October, with possible options to stay on through the winter.
